The bottom line: MiSana's AI processes all your health conversations directly on your device. AbeVision LLC does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit users' HealthKit data, health conversations, health history, personal identifiers, or device identifiers. For medication features, only medication names or barcode numbers are sent to U.S. government health databases (RxNorm and MedlinePlus, operated by NIH/NLM). These requests do not include personal identifiers, HealthKit data, health history, or conversation text.
With your explicit permission, MiSana reads (read-only) the following HealthKit data to provide personalized health information:
MiSana never writes to or modifies your Apple Health data. Access is strictly read-only.
MiSana uses an artificial intelligence model that runs entirely on your iPhone. All AI conversations and health data are processed locally. This means:
When you search for a medication by name, scan a barcode, or check drug interactions, MiSana sends only the medication name or barcode number to the following U.S. government databases:
Only medication names or barcode numbers are transmitted. No personal information, health history, HealthKit data, conversations, or device identifiers are ever sent. These services are operated by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and are not commercial third parties.
MiSana also includes a local database of 3,000+ health topics for citations. The online services are used only when a local match is not available or for medication-specific lookups.
When offline, medication search and interaction features return limited results. The AI assistant continues to function fully without an internet connection.
MiSana requests camera access solely for scanning medication barcodes. Camera images are processed in the moment and are not stored, saved, or transmitted. If a barcode is detected, the extracted barcode number is sent to RxNorm (NIH) to identify the medication. No images are transmitted.
Medication lists and notes you create within MiSana are stored locally on your device using standard app storage. This data is never transmitted outside your iPhone.
You can revoke MiSana's access to your Apple Health data at any time:
Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > MiSana
Revoking access does not delete data already stored by Apple Health — it only stops MiSana from reading it.
